About Us
Who We Are
The Swedenborg Project is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization, incorporated in the state of Maryland. It is dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ’s First and Second Comings in a way that will meaningfully touch peoples’ lives.
What We Believe
The teachings of Jesus Christ’s First Coming are found in the Divinely inspired books of the Old and New Testaments and those of the Second Coming in the Divinely inspired works that were revealed to and published by Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772). The teachings of both Comings are presented to the world in the Second Advent Christian Bible. (For a brief summary, see Overview.) Jesus’ Second Coming was not what people expected, just like His First Coming was not what people expected, since prophecy is always ambiguous to preserve free will.
The truths of His Comings can change our lives and make us - all of us - happy, right now and forever. The foundation of Christian religious life is, as it has always has been, a relationship with Jesus Christ (See How Important is a Relationship with Jesus? and Knowing Jesus, Loving Jesus).
What We Do
The Swedenborg Project is dedicated to making sure that everyone hears the whole Divine story, accurately presented and in a way that they can use in their lives. The teachings of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ tell us that spiritual free will is fundamental to human life. But people are not in free will to decide about teachings they have never heard of in a way meaningful to them. We believe that, with the light of both Comings to guide them, a new generation of activists has put its hand to this plow and will not look back (Luke 9:62). Our specific goals are:
1. Translate the books of Jesus’ First and Second Comings into all the world’s languages via the WikiWordofGod Project, including the Translaborator Project.
2. Experiment with innovative communication models to more effectively bring the teachings of the two Comings to all people. Focus particularly on models incorporating the affectional sphere of those teachings. The object is to help people know Jesus Christ, the heartbeat of true Christianity.
3. Provide an independent forum for dissemination and discussion of the teaching and application of the goods and truths of the Second Coming (The Swedenborg Project).
4. Provide a source of reference material dealing with the teachings of the Second Coming (The Swedenborg Digital Library) that has been reviewed for accuracy and point of view.
5. Develop
a video library

6. Broaden participation in and support of the Project’s mission.
